A creative soul and an insatiable wanderlust, laid the foundation for Mikaya Travels. A Sri Lankan-Australian artist, potter, travel designer, photographer, ex corporate executive, wife and mum, her love for wildlife and the desire to share the wonders of Africa & Asia led her to venture into the realm of travel.
She did her undergraduate studies in the USA and postgraduate studies in Sri Lanka before moving to Botswana in 2000.
Drawing from her personal experiences of having lived and travelled extensively in Asia, currently living in Africa, Sashi understands the allure of the unknown and the thrill of exploration. Her extensive travels have not only shaped her worldview but also provided the inspiration to create immersive, culturally rich itineraries that go beyond the typical tourist experience.
Sashi is a professional artist and Africa is in the heart of her creative inspiration. She combines her passion for art and the wilderness in curating unique experiences of ‘Art in the Wild’ Art Safaris in Africa.
Sashi's artistic background permeates every aspect of Mikaya Travel. Her keen eye for detail and aesthetics shapes our unique itineraries, ensuring that each journey is not merely a trip but a masterpiece, carefully curated to showcase the beauty and diversity of the African & Asian continents.
