Sashi is the Founder and Managing Director of Mikaya Travels, a dynamic entrepreneur whose vision bridges her professional expertise with her passion for art, travel, and wildlife. A Sri Lankan - Australian travel designer, artist, photographer, and former corporate executive, Sashi brings a unique blend of creativity, strategy, and global perspective to the world of bespoke travel.
Educated in the USA and Sri Lanka, and now based in Botswana since 2000, she draws on her extensive personal and professional experience across Asia, Africa, and beyond. Having lived, worked, and travelled widely, she has an intuitive understanding of what modern travellers seek - authenticity, immersion, and transformative moments.
Her artistic background permeates Mikaya’s philosophy. With a keen eye for aesthetics and detail, she curates journeys that are not just itineraries but carefully crafted experiences, designed to reflect the richness of culture, wildlife, and landscapes. Her pioneering Art in the Wild safaris combine creative expression with the raw beauty of Africa, offering guests experiences that are as inspiring as they are memorable.

Mikesh
Based in Sydney, Mikesh is the local representative for Mikaya Travels in Australia, playing a key role in connecting travellers with bespoke journeys across Africa, Asia, and the Indian Ocean Islands.
With a deep knowledge of Botswana and Africa, having grown up in the region, Mikesh brings invaluable insight and authenticity to his role.
He combines youthful energy with a professional approach, offering a fresh perspective on travel design and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences. Passionate about innovation, Mikesh integrates technology and modern solutions into the planning process, ensuring seamless, efficient, and personalized journeys.
